Has my Disc Slipped?!

A slipped disc is known professionally as a herniated disc.

Slipped discs can occur for a number of reasons, most often from stress put on the spine.

Most people do not realize that one of the common causes for a slipped disc is actually something we refer to in the chiropractic world as subluxation

Slipped discs can cause pain in the low back, but can also put pressure on the sciatic nerve causing leg pain, usually at the back of the leg.

Chiropractic care is often the best way to manage a slipped disc. Aspirin and other pain relievers only provided temporary relief unfortunately the pain will return if left untreated.  Chiropractic can help you to remove the pain entirely.  With the healing done INSIDE.

At New Leaf Chiropractic Clinic we combine scientifically and clinically proven techniques with a tailored exercise regime for home.  Combining these two therapies creates a powerful treatment for slipped discs and other back problems.

The overwhelming majority of people with a slipped disc will see significant improvements with a chiropractor within a few short weeks, sometimes days.  However, there are a very small minority of cases where chiropractic does not work, largely because the subluxation is too chronic and slipped discs have to be surgically removed.

The best way to avoid surgery all together is to get a baseline on your health and have us take a look with where you are at today.  We can't go back in time, but we can do our best to be sure we are maximizing the healing in your body now and into the future.
